  1. Pokémon™ GO Plus+ Vibration Motor Disable, Remove the two screws from the bottom: passo 1, immagine 1 di 1
    • Flanking both sides of the charging port are J00 Screws. Remove these.

    • These screws go into plastic, so when re-assembling the device, be very careful not to over tighten them.

    • These two screws are identical to each other, but differ from the screws within the device, keep them separate from any screws you remove from within the device.

  2. Pokémon™ GO Plus+ Vibration Motor Disable, Remove Faceplace: passo 2, immagine 1 di 2 Pokémon™ GO Plus+ Vibration Motor Disable, Remove Faceplace: passo 2, immagine 2 di 2
    • When looking at the front of the device, with the charging point at the bottom the device has a hinge clip and wires on the top right.

    • While opening, be extremely careful not to damage the fragile cables and connection between the main body and the faceplate.

    • With a fingernail or some kind of slim pry tool, gently lift from the bottom left corner.

    • There is adhesive that is holding the faceplate on, If you have difficulty pulling it off, use a plastic spudger by inserting it in on the bottom left then slowly hinge the device open while applying pressure to the adhesive pad to loosen it.

  3. Pokémon™ GO Plus+ Vibration Motor Disable, Cut the motor wire: passo 3, immagine 1 di 1
    • Cut the black wire connected to the motor. This vibration motor is soldered directly to the main board, and there is no way to disconnect it without severing the cable.

    • This is a one way change. after cutting this cable you cannot re-connect it to get vibration back without much more difficult soldering work.

    • As an alternative to fully disabling the motor by disconnecting it, you can take a metal file to the counterweight on the motor. Removing excess mass from this weight will drastically soften the vibration

    • Using a small bit of electrical tape or glue, cover the ends of the wire you snipped so they don't short out on anything else inside the device.

Conclusione

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.

I cut the red wire too, will that create an issue?

lanitadanielle - Replica

Not necessarily, but having both wires loose increases the risk of shorting out, so make sure the wires are secured enough so the metal of the wire cannot touch anything.

As the alternative, is there anything stopping me from cutting the shaft holding the counterweight and removing the whole thing instead of filing it?

Dominic (madmanDAS) - Replica

No, but if your goal is to completely remove the vibration, it's easiest just to cut the wire. If you're going to cut the whole shaft, that's a much more difficult snip to have to do. The point about filing some of it is to just remove some of the weight, not all of it, which will significantly soften the vibration effect rather than totally remove it. If your goal is to totally remove it, then it's easier just to cut the wire.
