Introduzione

This guide will show how to replace the Socket G2 CPU in your Latitude E6530 laptop.

  1. Flip over the laptop.
    • Flip over the laptop.

  2. Pull back the 2 battery tabs which are to the left and the right of the battery.

  3. Remove the battery from the laptop.
    • Remove the battery from the laptop.

  4. Remove the 4 Philips #0 screws from the laptop.
    • Remove the 4 Philips #0 screws from the laptop.

  5. Remove the bottom cover from the laptop.
    • Remove the bottom cover from the laptop.

  6. Remove the fan connector.
    • Remove the fan connector.

  7. Remove the 4 Philips #1 screws on the heatsink.
    • Remove the 4 Philips #1 screws on the heatsink.

  8. Remove the Fan+Heatsink assembly.
    • Remove the Fan+Heatsink assembly.

  9. Use a paper towel or alcohol swab to clean the thermal paste from the heatsink & CPU. Use a paper towel or alcohol swab to clean the thermal paste from the heatsink & CPU.

  10. Use a flathead screwdriver and turn the CPU lock counter-clockwise. Remember to turn the CPU Lock clockwise when you install the new CPU! If you don't do this, the computer won't boot up.

  11. Carefully remove the CPU.

    • Be VERY CAREFUL to NOT bend ANY pins on the CPU.

Conclusione

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order. Remember to reapply the thermal paste!
