Background
The MSI GE72 6QF Apache Pro, released in May, 2016, offers an Intel Core i7-6700HQ Skylake processor. The i7-6700HQ is an upgrade from the previous model - MSI GE72 2QD. The newer model also has a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970M graphics card, which provides a better gaming experience than the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M offered in the older model. Moreover, the newer model uses IPS technology in its display, providing a clearer screen and wider viewing angle. Lastly, a new addition to this model is a USB 3.1 port.
Identification
Both models have 17.3 inch screens and look identical, so the only ways to distinguish them would be either to look at the serial number provided or the hardware sticker to the right of the touch pad.
