Background and Identification
The AKG K240 is one of AKGs staple headphones originally designed and released in 1975. The headphones has gone around with a few revision using the same name, as well as being the parent of the K240 family with headphones such as K240 Sextett, K240M 600 Ohm, K240 DF, K240S, K240S MKII and the K240 MKII. The AKG K240 are professional over-ear semi-open studio headphones, designed for mixing, mastering and playback.
The AKG K240 features 30 mm XXL Varimotion diaphragms with 55 ohms impedance and their semi-open with multiple vents improves the sub-frequencies while keeping the highs clear, and makes them suitable for both mastering and studio usage. The original headphones had six passive radiators for bass extension, but has since been removed. The plastic headphones features a suspension mechanism for comfortable session with light weight. The headset uses a removable mini-XLR to 3.5 mm cable.
