Problems with battery cable!

Hi I accidentally unclipped the sister ribbon and had a vey hard time connecting it. I had the same issues as you are having above. I actually took it to a repair shop and she connected the ribbon but I am still having the same issues. It doesn't show the battery - and it won't stay charged and the fan stays on. I am a little confused on what to do next ... I am not very tech savvy so I really do need to instruction - thanks Kristina

@kristinam66215 is this different then the one on here What if I broke the clip on the sister ribbon connector ? If not, then stay with the original question and delete this one.

From your other note it sounds like the Zero Insertion Force (ZIF) cable connectors latch was lost. Review the steps 11& 12 in this guide MacBook Pro 13" Function Keys 2017 Battery Replacementto verify that they are both present. The do need to be present and set as they compress the cable to create the needed connection.

I am for sure that the cable connector latch is broken off... What will I need to do now? Is there a way to order a new latch? It's so tiny.... or do I need to order something else? Thank you

@kristinam66215 - the latch it's self is not available as a spare, but! The connector is, and you can carefully snap it out to the. Put into your logic board connector to fix things. Here's the connector Macbook A1708 A2338 A2159 A2289 Battery Data FPC Connector Socket 10Pin on Motherboard
