Why my pc shuts off halfway in loading a system?
Hello.
I have a Dell Optiplex 9010 SFF (Small form factor, it's just low profile version) and it tries to boot, but after a minute or so it restarts. Is this a problem with the PSU? Or what is failing? And, if it's the PSU, do I need to buy the OG part or are there replacements?
Power supply is a 250w (?) one, CPU is i5 3rd gen (i5-3470) and I got more RAM (two DIMMs instead of one, both 4gb and none og). Not only that, but also a WiFi card.
Questa è una buona domanda?
Hi @marciko
Can you get into BIOS and leave it there for a while, without it restarting?
Can to start the OS in safe mode without it restarting?

I didn't try that yet. I'll try it later. I feel like the whole PSU disables tho...

When trying to locate problems it is easier to find out what works or doesn't work and then progress from there.
For example if you can get into BIOS and it stays on then generally the hardware is OK.
If it turns off in BIOS then you check is it turning off due to a heat problem for instance e.g. fan not working or dried thermal paste on CPU so PC is shut down etc
If safe mode stays on then it's looking like a driver problem in Windows
If it stays on in BIOS but turns off in safe mode is it a HDD problem etc
At least in narrows down where to start looking rather than assuming where the problem is.
