Fridge Light working in reverse!

We had a power cut yesterday - when the power resumed we noticed that our kitchen fridge light was off when the door is opened and on when its closed. Total reversal in the way it should normally operate. The fridge is a Bosch KIV32X23GB/04 model about 4 years old. I suspect reverse polarity might have been a possible cause, but no idea how to fix it.
