My laptop (AN 515-55-56P) started doing the same thing on 7/18. I've performed the battery removal and holding power button sequence more times than I can count. I've uninstalled and reinstalled drivers. I rolled back Windows and then upgraded to Windows 11. I even bought and installed a new battery with the exact same issue! I used a multimeter to verify that my charger is providing 19.8V and verified that the battery has the indicated 15.4V across its outer pins.

All of this and still no luck!

Hi @latenightp68108

Does the laptop turn on OK and work when the charger is connected?

If so the battery may be faulty and need replacing.

With the laptop turned on create a battery report to check the status of the battery.

When you have the report, compare the Design Capacity value versus the Full Charge Capacity value. For a good battery they should nearly be the same value. if the Full Charge capacity value is <40% of the Design capacity it may be advisable to replace the battery.

Here's the ifixit Acer Nitro 5 AN515-55-55M1 Battery Replacement guide, that will help.

Search online for AP18E7M¹ to find battery suppliers that suit you best.

¹ This is the battery model number printed on the battery in the guide, near the Acer logo on the battery. Check what is printed on the battery in your laptop to make sure that you're getting the correct one.

Update (07/20/23)

Hi @latenightp68108

Try a power refresh in case it is a corrupted BIOS that is preventing the laptop from working.

Disconnect the charger from the laptop and then open the laptop and disconnect the battery cable from the motherboard.

You don't have to remove the battery, just disconnect it. See the battery removal guide linked above.

Next, press and hold the laptop's Power button for a full 30 seconds and then release it.

Reconnect the battery cable, reassemble the laptop and connect the charger.

If the laptop starts to charge, allow it to fully charge before attempting to turn on the laptop.

Once charged try turning it on.

If it does turn on OK etc, there may be a message about the date and time being incorrect. This is normal as the BIOS has been reset back to its factory default state. Once the date and time have been corrected, the message won't appear again on startup.

Also if any user definable settings have been altered in BIOS by you to suit whatever operating requirements you have, then these will have to be set again as well.

If it still doesn't work then there's a problem on the motherboard and further testing would be required.
