So after replacing the battery successfully everything works fine except the Camera which won’t even open. Although the battery regalement never involved touching the camera connection etc and all looks ok, the Camera won’t open. Very frustrating and puzzling.

Maybe you need a new camera module, before you replaced the battery was the camera working oké?

Yes it was working fine before as far as I know.
