Whenever i try to stream something either on Netflix, youtube, Viki my screen starts to flicker and as soon as move the cursor the screen stops flickering but starts flickering again after a couple of seconds
I am on latest version of MacOS Mojave

Well, your battery is well beyond its expected lifespan! Determine battery cycle count for Mac notebooks running well past its 1,000 cycles (in your case 1,741), clearly you got your moneys worth!
I would recommend you replace the battery and then check if the screen is still having problems.

Check your Display settings do you have Automatically adjust brightness enabled? If you do turn it off to see if that helps.
Are you using the system off the battery or are you using the charger?
Given the systems age I would check the battery. Install this app CoconutBattery post a snapshot of the main window so we can see Aggiungere immagini ad una domanda a worn battery can effect the power stability which in turn effect the displays backlight (which is noticeable).
