Juice spillage, mouse pad not working
Last night i was rushing through some last minute homework when disaster struck. I spilt juice all over my laptop. I immediately flipped the laptop upside down to let it drain but foolishly i did not turn it off :/
None the less after leaving it to drain for around 30 minutes and wiping it down it seemed to work perfectly fine…until i turned it off…and it would not turn back on again. I left it till this morning when i found it was still not booting and when i did try to boot it the light would come on but nothing else.
After breaking out the old rice bag trick it was right as rain…except after checking everything worked the trackpad ceased to function. Then it began working again before stopping once more. Everything else seemed fine except the oddities surrounding the mouse pad.
What do i do? I do not have the required tools to dismantle a laptop and i am a broke jobless college student so potentially expensive repairs are a last resort. I also fear that residue left behind from the juice could cause corrosion and could be the reason why the mouse pad has stopped working.
Edit: Two days since spilling juice on my laptop. The mouse pad is now working and everything seems to be functioning correctly, i just have a laptop that smells of tropical flavored juice. I am still worried about corrosion due to residue though.
