MacBook will not run on battery
Hi,
My MacBook is running Snow Leopard will not start up on battery, after 3 secs and some optical drive noise it shuts off. With charger attached it keeps cycling trying over and over to boot.
When I removed battery and reset SMC holding the power switch with battery and AC disconnected it will start on the MagSafe. This is a new battery I have struggled to fully charge and discharge twice but still if it does start on battery is shuts down after a few mins of operation.
I had this attached to a FireWire audio interface and external monitor and stupidly left charger always connected. I have reset SMC, PRAM, out of Ideas
Any help thanks

@a1mac - Martin the battery looks like a newer battery. Lets give the diagnostics a try do you still have the grey installation CD's. One will be labeled diagnostics. using it to boot up your system see what it tells you.

Hi Dan I purchased this secondhand and do not have the CDs.

Not good, Can you contact the seller to get them? Otherwise you'll need to find someone local who can diagnose the issue.
There's a good chance the logic board has a problem. Maybe it would be smarter returning it and getting your money back so you can get a better system,

Hi Dan I purchased this in 2014 secondhand. Can I download diagnostic from online or I have usb stick (OSX 10.6 installer) for my mac Pro tower. Other then that I will have to chance changing Logic board which I am capable of doing.
