Hi Jason, The most likely scenario is there could be a possible tear in the flex for the recent key. Can you test it working with a new charging port flex? Or you can try the connector and check every pin to be uniform, then make sure it is seated properly. Occasionally this may not be completely connected.

Hi Zachary, The best option is to find some replacement parts pulled from old iMacs, though upgrading CPU to run Mojave, isn’t possible. Too many power draw issues.

I have not repaired one of these, but it looks to be similar to a Galaxy SIII, so maybe use it as a guide. Just remove the screws from the back, and take the back cover off. Disconnect the LCD and Digitiser cables if possible. Lightly heat the front glass, and slide a plastic thin tool (Guitar Pick) around the edges, slowly moving deeper as the screen begins to lift. Once it is off, you should find the LCD should fall out as well. Clean the glue off, and you should now be able to Install the new LCD and Digitiser. Make sure to remove and protective films from the LCD, and from the inside of the digitiser. Tape the Digitiser down with provided adhesive and attach any connectors. Screw the back cover on. Hmm, I guess from it's age all you will be able to do is to back it up. Then if you were able to get a full back up on to your computer. Press and hold power and home buttons while it is still plugged into the Computer. Once it shuts down and you see the Apple Symbol, release the power button and continue holding the home button. Your Computer should have a message pop up saying it found a device in recovery mode. Restore your iPod, and leave it plugged into your computer, then as it asks you to set up the iPod from the welcome screen, press restore from back up. This should fix your issue.

Just remove your cmos battery for about 10 seconds. It is the one that looks like a watch battery in your bottom picture.

When you changed the screen did you unplug the battery? Made sure there was no ESD damage? If so, try a memory reset. This should work with at least the original screen. If not, then it may of been shorted somewhere.

Those marks are from something pressing on the back of the backlight. Maybe check if the frame is straight, check the metal plate on the back of the glass for any dirt, tape or glass. Did the metal plate sit in nicely before screwing it in? You didn't need to bend the tags, or no pressure? Does the screen do it while it's out of the frame? Otherwise you may be able to gently heat the screen with a hairdryer to about 60deg C or 140F, let it cool and test again.

Did the new screen have a stylus pen flex cable? Is the cable clicked in properly? If they are then try hard rebooting. If not then the stylus flex could be faulty.

The easiest way is to format the SSD first while your original drive is in the MacBook. Then clone your whole drive before installing it into your MacBook Pro. If you can't format it to GUID then the SSD probably would not suit a Mac.
