Hi Puneet Rawat

What had you tried?

What issues you are having now?

like able to turn on but no sound?

Mine is well soldered but still no sound to the sub woofer except the smaller speakers only. What could be the problem? i have changed the TDA7396 twice now but no joy

Hi Puneet,

did you manage to fix this? I’ve got exactly the same problem. I tested all resistors and capacitors up / from TDA7396 and they seem to be fine. I also replaced the TDA7396 as you did with no sucess. I’m really lost.

Puneet Rawat  this could be a Bass module issue on your Bose. Post some good pictures of the modules etc. with your question. That way we can see what you see. Use this guide Aggiungere immagini ad una domanda for that.

Here is the schematic for the module and you can start checking components with a multimeter. Let us know what you find.

Have you checked the fuse?

From Bose Troubleshooting guide:

”AC mains power is connected by the line cord via jack J1. A slow acting fuse F1 is connected between J1 [D7] and the locking primary connector J3 (or J2 or J4) to protect against faults. A Metal Oxide Varistor (MOV) VR1 is placed after the fuse and across the line. It is used to protect against lightning strikes and other line transients. “

I did some research and it sounds like bad solder joints are common in this unit, So I would look for any cracked joints, cold solder, etc. while you are in there inspecting the fuse.

Mov VR1 do you know wich one can i buy

First you should use a meter to confirm that the part(s) is(are) bad. Start by re-flowing the solder to those parts. You can also short the fuse to see if it works, but I wouldn't recommend leaving it that way.. the fuse is there for safety of you and the device.

I found that part on tessco
