I bet the new screen is bad (likely) or was damaged during installation (possible).

To verify this, put back the old screen if you still have it (and if it does show an image and has touch).

So to fix this, get a new screen from a reputable vendor that test their screens prior to shipping or at least carry good quality product and a warranty to match. I'd say iFixit.com is a great choice for this (we are not affiliated).

Before installing the new screen, clean the frame of the phone with acetone or some non-watery solvent and make sure you remove every bit of dirt, adhesive, double-tape, whatever was present from before. It should be so clean you'd eat off it. Apply a new adhesive seal, but don't remove the protection foil until you've tested the new screen, making sure of the following:

  • Home button works;
  • Touch ID scans your finger print (try adding a new finger print in Settings);
  • Record a short selfie video with sound and play it back to make sure you have image and sound;
  • Call a toll-free number and listen through the earpice; check that the screen blacks-out when you cover the ear speaker (thus tripping the proximity sensor) with your hand;
  • Make sure 3D touch is working;
  • Go to Settings>General>Accessibility Options>Assistive Touch, turn it ON, and drag it across all the screen. It should move smoothly and not hang at any spot;
  • Open the Notes app, a new note, type all the letters of the keyboard to check for accuracy and dead lines.
  • Once everything is thouroughly tested, remove the foil from the adhesive and seal the screen in place. Alternatively, you can leave the adhesive off altogether until you've tested everything, then remove screen, apply adhesive, install screen back, screws, foil off, and seal. Good luck. DON'T MIX UP the screws of the screen plate.

This guide shows you how to do the repair in details and links the needed parts and tools as well.

@austin245 if the screen is not physically damaged from the 1st repair attempt, they would I think warranty it for you. Try to contact them.

2 potential issues here.

1 - There is pressure from the phone housing pushing the screen up.  In which case remove the screen and inspect the lip that site on the outmost edge of where your screen pops into place.  When Iphones are dropped it is not uncommon these take a dink and lean in.  Because of this the new screen will not sit flush.  Take a small hammer or vice and try to knock it back out.  The screen will sit flush after there are no obstructions.

2 - There is an issue with the new screen.  However unlikely this is. (option 1 works for me when I repair phones at work).

Nope, thanks though. Ended up sticking some getto adhesive on one side to stop the clicking until i buy a adhesive seal for the whole screen, seems to be because of lack of adhesive :P
