Bootlooping because of power button

There's a common issue with N5 where the power button causes the phone to bootloop. I've stripped it down, but I'm unsure what to do with regards to fixing this issue. I've been quoted £30 to fix the power button, but I'm not sure if this will fix the issue.

The problem is with the physical button on the motherboard, which is just not so well designed, because dirt can get stuck into it.

Remove the motherboard from the unit, and blast some rubbing alcohol into the actual button part with an air duster. Wait until the board is entirely dry and reassemble. I have to do this every couple of months, it's a bit of a drag.

I temporarily fixed mine by button bashing the power button until the phone rebooted. I felt pretty stupid doing so but after about 20 seconds of really fast clicking on it quite hard it worked. I already tried replacing the battery twice since boot loops are often caused by power issues but without result. Anyone know a solid fix? Is it the button on the logic board that has to be resoldered?

Saskia's answer above is the best solution short of replacing the part (i.e., replacing the motherboard, in most cases probably more hassle/expense than it is worth).

One quick and dirty, no-disassembly trick that worked for me several times was to rap the phone (in a bumper case) sharply against the edge of a counter with the power button facing down). Optional followup: with the button still facing down use the crevice tool (with the case off) in hopes it would catch anything that had worked lose in the thin gap between the switch and the phone body.

Not ideal but handy if you are on the road and want to give it a try.
