If the button on an Atari Flashback 2 console is sticking or broken, then it will need to be cleaned or replaced. This guide covers the steps necessary to disassemble the console in order to access the buttons to do so.

    • Using the screwdriver and PH1 bit, unscrew the five 10.0 mm screws.

    • One is under the main sticker in the middle of the console.

    • Use a PH1 screwdriver to unscrew the two 9.0 mm screws on the circuit board that corresponds to the red power button.

    • Remove gently. The circuit board is connected by wire to the console. Removing the cable from the console case may allow more slack.

    • A spring may pop out.

Conclusione

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.

Hello. I just bought a used atari flashback 2 and when I turn it on it seems that the power button is a little tricky. I wiggle the button in and out and half way etc. then sometimes I can get it to turn on. Once on, the video 'pulses' on and off and a pulsing sound is noticeable. Is it just a faulty power button or is it something worse like a power regulator. I've taken it apart and all seems to be ok looking ie. no burnt fuses etc.  Can you help?  ~Brad Beachin~
