Background
Designed in collaboration with Beastie Boy Mix Master Mike, these headphones have a number of features for both DJ and regular user. Two 3.5mm gold plated audio ports(one on each ear) are available along with two different cables, a PU coil and a TPE. Padded ear cups can rotate 90 degrees as well as fold toward the headband for storage. A mute button is installed on the right ear cup which keeps the music playing on your device, but silent in the headphones.
The Mix Master’s are designed for use with Apple iPod, iPhone, and iPad. A 3-button microphone on one of the audio cables can be used with these devices. 50mm diameter speakers feature Mylar drivers and Neodymium magnet, as well as 100 ohm impedance and 20-20kHz frequency response. The headphones also come with a carrying case for the folded Mix Master’s and both audio cables.
The Mix Master headphones are well received by typical users, and are Skullcandy’s competition for other mainstream headphones such as Beats by Dre and Soul by Ludacris.
Identification
The Skullcandy Mix Master DJ Headphones are over-the-ear headphones that feature adjustable sizing, folding earpads, and a 3-button microphone. Found mainly in black, embossed Skullcandy logos are found on each ear cup. The Skullcandy brand is printed along the top of the headband cover and near the ear cups. You can find the model number on the original packaging.
