Background and Identification
In June of 2007, the Newport e360 was announced with the Biphasic breath type in its new software. Biphasic Pressure Release Ventilation (BPRV) allows for free exhalation and exhalation in a pressure-controlled breath. The ventilator is compact in size and cheap on the market. It features a graphical user interface touchscreen, automatic and adjustable alarms, and works for people of all ages.
In 2014 there was a class 2 device recall for the Newport e360 Ventilator. The recall was to fix the issue of audible alarms not sounding when the ventilator is in an alarm state. The rest of the ventilator, including visual and remote alarms, still operated normally. At this time, 5,765 were in commerce.
