Background
The Strongarm is a direct plunger, revolving barrel blaster, and a part of the N-Strike Elite series. The Strongarm is Nerf's improvement on the previous and popular Nerf Maverick REV-6, originally released in 2005. The Strongarm was officially released to the U.S. market in 2013, but unofficial sales began in 2012 from Hasbro Singapore.
With its unlocking reloading barrel, the Strongarm is capable of loading 6 Elite Darts into the blaster. Nerf advertises its N-Strike Elite Strongarm having a range of 15-20 meters.
Identification
The Strongarm can be differentiated from its predecessor, the REV-6, in size, as the Strongarm is larger. It also differs in function, with the barrel only rotating when the internal plunger returns, rather than twice as in the REV-6. The Strongarm was given an official re-release in 2014, with a modified color scheme.
The Strongarm comes in 4 color schemes. The standard Strongarm has a blue, white, gray, black, and orange color scheme. The Australian version has a grey trigger, rather than the standard orange.
You can identify your toy by the model name, STRONGARM, printed along the bottom edge of the side, towards the rear of the Nerf gun. Depending on the version, STRONGARM may be embossed along the lower edge near the muzzle. Nerf is printed along the barrel, and N-Strike Elite is printed on the handle.
