Background and Identification
M3T is a provider of ATM-enabled, self-service interactive kiosks. An interactive kiosk is a computer terminal featuring specialized hardware and software that provides access to information and applications for education, communication, commerce, or entertainment. M3T offers a wide range of kiosk options including ATM, Cash Advance, POS Debit, Check Cashing, Bill Breaking, Ticket Redemption, and Player’s Club enrollment.
M3T kiosks generally include 22-inch HD touch screens, light-emitting diode (LED) attractant lights, and a large commercial coin hopper. Payment kiosks can be used in many situations where a company accepts regular payments from their customers such as utility payments, cell phone bills, and stored credit cards.
The integration of technology allows kiosks to perform a wide range of functions, causing them to evolve into self-service kiosks. Customized components such as coin hoppers, bill acceptors, card readers, and thermal printers enable kiosks to meet the owner’s specialized needs.
Many specialized kiosk software applications have been developed for various industries. Applications interface with the bill acceptor and credit card swipe, meter time, prevent users from changing the configuration of software or downloading computer viruses to allow the kiosk owner to see revenue. Various threats to kiosk reliability include vulnerability to hacking, allowing access to the operating system, and the need for a session or hardware restart.
