Will Not Power On

The device will not turn on at all, or will not turn on a short time after it is removed from the charger.

Drained Battery

If the device will not turn on, the battery may be dead. Simply plug in a micro USB into the micro USB port on the back of the device and into a power supply (e.g. A laptop, wall charger, etc.) The battery takes about 4-6 hours to charge completely.

Damaged Battery Pack

While charging the device, the red charging light should come on. If light does not come on, see Device Not Charging . After charging for 4-6 hours, unplug the device. Turn the device on by sliding the power switch all the way to the right. A red power indicator should light. If the device powers down in less than 30 minutes, the battery is losing charge. Replace the battery.

Faulty Power Switch

While charging the device, the red charging light should come on. If when you switch the device on the red power indicator light does not turn on, the device’s power switch may be defective. Replace the power switch.

Faulty Motherboard

If the iHome still will not power on, there may be a problem with the motherboard. Replace the motherboard.

Won’t Play Music In AUX Mode

The device will turn on, but will not play music in the AUX mode, or the quality of music is poor.

Incorrect Mode of Operation

When attempting to play music in AUX mode, ensure that the switch is positioned in its right-most setting. If the iHome’s power switch is set to the middle position, it will attempt to connect to a bluetooth device.

Faulty AUX Cable

If the iHome is set to AUX mode, and will still not play music, test the AUX cable by attempting to use it with another device. If the AUX cable does not work with the other device, replace the AUX cable.

Faulty AUX Port

If the AUX cable is not the issue, ensure the aux cable is properly connected to the iHome. Make sure that there is no dirt, lint, or debris in the AUX port. If you have done all of this and the iHome still won’t play music in AUX mode, the AUX port may be bad. Replace the AUX port.

Doesn't Charge

The blue charging light does not turn on, the device does not accept a charge.

Faulty Micro USB Cable

If the charging light does not come on, first try using the Micro USB cable to charge another device. If the other device does not charge either, replace the Micro USB cable.

Faulty Micro USB Port

If the second device you try charging using the Micro USB cable does in fact charge, The Micro USB port on the iHome may be broken. Replace the Micro USB port.

Volume Too Low

Either the iHome’s volume is too low or there is no volume at all.

Bad Bluetooth Connection

If you are playing music over bluetooth and the volume on the iHome is very low or inaudible, first check that the volume is not set to a low value on your device or on the iHome. If it is not, disconnect your device from the iHome. Delete any connection settings related to the iHome on the device. Reconnect your device.

Faulty AUX Cable

If you are playing music over AUX and the volume on the iHome is very low or inaudible, first check that the volume is not set to a low value on your device or on the iHome. If it is not, try using your AUX cable on another device. If there is a similar issue, replace the AUX cable.

Faulty AUX Port

If you are playing music over AUX and the volume on the iHome is very low or inaudible, first check that the volume is not set to a low value on your device or on the iHome. If it is not, try wiggling the AUX cable in the port. If you can momentarily hear the music at normal volume, the AUX port may be damaged. Replace the AUX port.

Faulty Motherboard

If the iHome volume is still inaudible, the main circuit board within the iHome may have been damaged. Replace the motherboard.

Won't Connect to Bluetooth

The iHome iBT16 will not pair with a Bluetooth enabled music player

Incorrect Mode of Operation

When attempting to play music over Bluetooth, if the switch is not set to the middle position on your iHome, move the switch to the middle position. There should be an audible tone when the device enters Bluetooth mode.

Device Out of Range

Ensure your device is within 30 ft of the iHome. Large distances can cause issues with connections via Bluetooth.

iHome Paired With Wrong Device

After your iHome has been in Bluetooth mode for 1 minute, the indicator light should repeatedly switch from blue to red indicating that the iHome is ready to pair. If it does not, your iHome may still be paired with another device. Make sure to disconnect any other devices from the iHome before trying again.

Faulty Bluetooth Antenna

If after these steps you're still having difficulty with Connecting to your iHome over Bluetooth, the Bluetooth antenna may be malfunctioning. The antenna on the iHome is integrated into the motherboard of the device. Replace the motherboard of the device.

I thought my speaker was broken for sure because the volume was very faint. I followed the instructions and selected "Forget this Device" on my iPhone, reconnected the speaker and it works again! Thanks!

On the bottom of the speaker, peel off the sticker that has the iHome model number and other info to reveal four screws. Take the screws out and you'll see three sets of wires. The set that is black and red with a white plug can be removed and and put back in to hard set the speaker.

Are you sure you are talking about the same speaker? First of all, The sticker with the iHome model number does not cover or conceal the screws to remove the bottom panel, nor any screws at all . Also, there are not three sets of wires. There are two sets (-black+red) of wires. One set from battery to motherboard, and the other set from the motherboard to speaker.

When I charge my speaker it lights up red then like a minute later it won’t lightup red, does that mean it stopped charging?
