Zoomer Dino Boomer Won’t Turn On

When the power switch is turned on, the Zoomer Dino Boomer does not turn on.

Charge Zoomer Dino Boomer

If Zoomer Dino Boomer does not turn on when the switch is activated, try plugging in Zoomer Dino Boomer into the computer with the micro-USB charger. Zoomer Dino Boomer needs to charge for an hour for 20-30 minutes of play.

Replace USB Charging Cord

Another possibility for the Zoomer Dino Boomer not turning on may be because the USB charging cord is not working properly. If this is the case, the USB charging cord may need to be replaced.

Replace Battery

If Zoomer Dino Boomer still does not turn on, it may be the case that the battery needs to be replaced.

Check Electrical System

Zoomer Dino Boomer may be experiencing issues with its electrical system. Replacing the main circuit board may resolve this issue. See the Zoomer Dino Boomer Main Circuit Board Replacement Guide.

Zoomer Dino Boomer Won’t Respond to Hand Gestures

When the gesture command mode is turned on, Zoomer Dino Boomer does not respond.

Check the Play Mode

To use gesture command mode, Zoomer Dino Boomer’s eyes must be purple. If Zoomer Dino Boomer’s eyes are not purple, Zoomer Dino Boomer is not on the correct mode. To change Zoomer Dino Boomer to gesture command mode, press the button on Zoomer Dino Boomer’s back. If this button is not working correctly, see the Zoomer Dino Boomer Back Button Replacement Guide.

Check Sensor Area

In order for Zoomer Dino Boomer to sense hand gestures, you must be in the appropriate range of Zoomer Dino Boomer’s sensors. Your hand must be between five and fifteen centimeters away from Zoomer Dino Boomer’s sensors. Additionally, your hand must not be above or below Zoomer Dino Boomer’s sensors by more than 10 centimeters.

Clean Sensors

If the above techniques are used and Zoomer Dino Boomer still won’t respond to hand gestures, clean the sensors. Zoomer Dino Boomer is electronic, so don’t use water to clean him. Use a dry, scratchless cloth to clean the sensors to avoid scratching the sensors.

Replace Sensor

If none of the above options work, it may be necessary to replace the Zoomer Dino Boomer's nose sensor. See the Zoomer Dino Boomer Nose Sensor Replacement Guide.

Zoomer Dino Boomer is Having Trouble Balancing and Moving

When playing with the Zoomer Dino Boomer, he either does not move correctly, or he falls and won’t get back up.

Check the Play Surface

Zoomer Dino Boomer works best on low carpets and smooth, flat surfaces. If Zoomer Dino Boomer is not moving, check to make sure the surface he is set on isn’t too slippery, rough, or thick carpet. If so, move Zoomer Dino Boomer to a smoother surface and this should correct the problem.

Zoomer Dino Boomer Falls on His Head or Tail

Zoomer Dino Boomer Falls on Side

If Zoomer Dino Boomer falls on his side, you must assist him in lifting him up. Put Zoomer Dino Boomer back on his feet and press either the button on his back or the angry button on the control pad to continue playing with him.

If this occurs, see the Zoomer Dino Boomer Tail Tip Replacement Guide.

Zoomer Dino Boomer’s Mouth Doesn’t Open

While powered on, Zoomer Dino Boomer’s mouth doesn’t open or close.

Foreign Object in Mouth

If Zoomer Dino Boomer’s mouth doesn’t open, first make sure nothing is lodged inside of the mouth preventing movement. If so, remove the foreign object.

Dirt Build Up

If there isn’t anything stuck in Zoomer Dino Boomer’s mouth, it may be a possibility that a buildup of dirt may be preventing proper movement. The dirt can be removed using a dry, scratchless cloth. Remember not to use water to clean Zoomer Dino Boomer, since it may affect the electronics in the system. To prevent dirt build up from occurring in the future, remember to play with Zoomer Dino Boomer in a clean, dry environment.

Hi, I have a similar issue, for which, in my case, the electric motor is not working any more. I’d suggest you investigate first the gear mechanism (gearbox and mouth attachment) would be mechanical and easier to spot. The motor itself and its connection (cable and plug at the circuit board) and the position sensor. The position sensor can either be faulty or not properly communicating to the circuit due to cable and connection issues. The final possible root cause would be the mother board malfunctioning.
