Tablet Won't Power On

Tablet will not respond and power button will not cause the device to turn on.

Battery is Dead

Use the charger provided with the Xiaomi Mi Pad to plug the tablet in to the wall or a computer and allow it to charge for a few hours.

Battery is Defective

If your tablet will not charge and you have ensured that it is in fact defective and the problem isn't the charger, the battery will need to be replaced. If your tablet is still under warranty from the manufacturer then you can contact them for a replacement.

Charger is Defective

Ensure the problem is the charger itself by testing the same cord with another device and also test the charger in a different outlet. If the charger is still not working then it is broken and should be replaced. Any Micro USB charger will work with this device.

Motherboard is Defective

The motherboard needs to be replaced if the tablet has a full charge but won't power on.

Screen Doesn't Function Correctly

Screen is black or won't display the image properly

Tablet Needs to be Charged

If your screen isn't working properly, make sure the device is on and charged before trying anything else.

Tablet Needs to be Restarted

Often times electronics simply need to be reset when they aren't functioning properly. Power off your device and allow it to sit for 30 seconds before powering it back on.

Tablet Needs to be Factory Reset

If a simple restart was not enough to fix the screen then it may require a reset.

Note: Be careful to back up any important files or pictures before performing a factory reset as you will lose the data on your device.

  1. First turn off the tablet.
  2. Press and hold the "Volume Down" button and the "Power Button" together.
  3. The tablet should now be in recovery mode and displaying a menu.
  4. Use volume down to select wipe data / factory reset.
  5. Use volume up to confirm.
  6. Wait for the tablet to completely wipe itself before doing anything further.
  7. The reboot system will confirm that the wipe was successful.
  8. Wait until the tablet is fully powered on to see if the problem is fixed.

Screen Needs to be Replaced

If none of the above solutions were successful in fixing the screen on your tablet, the screen is damaged and needs to be replaced.

Tablet Won't Produce Sound

The tablet won't play audio from music or videos.

Headphones Not Plugged In

Ensure the headphones are fully plugged in and check that they are functional on other devices.

Volume Is Low or Muted

Make sure that the volume is not off or muted with the volume up button on the right side of the tablet.

Defective Headphone Jack

Headphone jack is defective and needs to be replaced.

Camera Doesn't Function Properly

Camera screen is black or won't display a picture

Tablet Requires a Restart

In order to get the camera working, your Mi Pad should be restarted to reset the functionality of the camera.

Camera Lens is Blocked or Broken

Check the camera lens on the back of the device to make sure the camera lens is neither obstructed nor broken. If the lens is broken it will need to be replaced.

Camera Requires Replacement

If the camera doesn't appear to be broken but will still not function, it will need to be replaced.

Identify if the front camera or back camera needs to be replaced.

Forgotten Passcode

You forgot the password for your Xaiomi Mi Pad

If you cannot remember the passcode to the device then a factory reset will need to be performed.

Note: Be careful to back up any important files or pictures before performing a factory reset as you will lose the data on your device.

  1. First turn off the tablet.
  2. Press and hold the "Volume Down" button and the "Power Button" together.

Hie guys ...my mi pad 2 ..jus shuts down on it on ...it takes time to reboot after several times of trying..please help
