Inaccurate portion control
The feeder dispenses small amounts of kibble each time.
Low food supply
Your feeder could be suffering from this issue if the portions that it feeds are not consistent amounts. The Voluas portion control could falter due to the food supply being low. Even if there is some food left in the feeder, it’s important to keep it topped off so that gravity will keep the food supply consistent.
Low/Dead Battery
A low battery could also cause this issue, as the electric motor that drives the feeder won’t get enough power to push the food out. If possible, use the supplied wall plug-in to ensure constant power supply. If using batteries, replace them whenever this issue arises. You can find a guide for replacing the batteries here. Always make sure to use dry food only with this feeder.
Inconsistent feeding times
The pet feeder is not dispensing kibble at the set time.
Incorrect time set
The Voluas is inconsistent with when it dispenses food. This can be due to the confusing process of how to set feeding times. Note what times the product feeds. If they are at consistent times across several days, this may be due to desired feeding times not being set correctly or possibly having the wrong time set for your feeder. Refer to the user manual supplied with the feeder or to this online copy of the manual to fix this issue. It’s also important to note that the feeder only works on “military time” or 24-hour time.
Feeder Not Turning On
The pet feeder does not show any sign of powering on.
Low/Dead batteries
If your device fails to turn on, a faulty battery could be the issue. If you are using batteries to power your device, as opposed to the provided USB cable, replace your batteries with 3D-Cell alkaline batteries. If the issue persists, try using the USB cable to see if the issue is related to the feeder itself, or how it is being powered. You can find a guide for replacing the batteries here.
Damaged USB or USB Port
If you are not using batteries to power your device, there may be a problem with the provided USB cable or the USB port on the feeder. First, try to use another cable to see if the cable is the issue. If the port is damaged or not working, refer to this guide on how to replace your USB port.
Jammed feeder
If you can hear the electric motor running, but the food isn’t coming out, the feeder may be jammed.
Incompatible pet food type
The Voluas should only be filled with dry kibble. The kibble size should range from 2-10mm/0.07-0.4 inches in diameter. Avoid filling the device with wet pet food.
Obstructed feeder mechanism
Disassemble the food tank and look for any objects inside the chute that may be stuck. Make sure that the fan can turn freely and is clear of any obstructions that may cause it to be blocked. You may need to take off the fan from the bottom of the storage tank by removing the three screws on the underside. This will give you access to the fan and chute. Refer to this link for more instructions.
Slow feeding
The feeder dispenses food at a slow or slower-than-normal rate.
Low/Dead batteries
If you are using batteries to power your device, replace them, since batteries that are on low power may be causing the issue. You can find a guide for replacing the batteries here.
Weak motor
If you have assessed the power supply and the feeder mechanism and you still feel that the feeder is slow, there is, unfortunately, not much that can be done without serious modification to your device's motor and gearing. The feeder doesn't work well for larger animals due to the electric motor that turns the mechanism being fairly weak. If you need to replace the motor, you can find the guide for that here.

Unable to set the time. After pressing "set", the hour does not blink. The only thing that blinks is the : between the hour and minute symbols.
