The vacuum won't turn on

When the power button is pressed, nothing happens.

The vacuum is not plugged in

Check if the cord is plugged completely into the outlet. If not, plug it in.

The outlet does not work

Check if the outlet is working. Try plugging something else, such as a lamp, into the outlet, and see if it works. If that outlet does not work, plug the vacuum into a different outlet.

The vacuum leaves behind debris

When the vacuum is on, it is not picking up debris, or it is leaving behind debris as it goes.

The vacuum is on the wrong setting

The setting for the floor being vacuumed may be wrong. Located at the top of the vacuum is a slider with three settings: Thick Carpet/Area Rug, Carpet/Low Pile, and Hard Floor. Adjust the slider to the floor being vacuumed.

The dustbin is full

The dustbin may be full and cannot hold any more particles or debris. Remove and empty the dustbin, and clean/replace all filters. This guide will help with the removal of both the dustbin and the filters.

The intake path is blocked

Check for a clog in the intake path. Check the bottom of the vacuum/hose and clean out any hair, cloth, or debris. Clean the brush roll by using your fingers, tweezers, scissors, or other tools to unclog the path.

The roller is faulty

Check if the rollers on the bottom of the vacuum are both working properly. If not, replace one or both with this guide.

The vacuum loses suction

The vacuum is working, but not as effectively as in the past. It takes more than one pass to pick up debris.

The dust bin is full

To clean the dust bin remove it using this guide. If any residue is on the grate, clean it with a damp cloth and replace the bin.

The vacuum has a clogged filter

To clean the filter, remove the foam and cotton filter using this guide and wash under warm water until the water is clear. Let the filters dry before putting them back in.

The brush roll is not spinning

If the brush roll is dirty, the vacuum cannot pick up particulates as well. To clean the brush roll, first lower the vacuum to the floor by pushing the handle down. Remove the cover of the brush roll by pressing the Brush Roll Access button. Then remove the brush roll by pulling the Pull Tab labeled on the brush roll. Once the brush roll is removed, look for any obstructions like hair, string, or fibers and cut them away using scissors.

The hose connections are blocked

If the hose connections are blocked, there will be a lack of airflow through the vacuum. Remove the hose and the wand by pressing the Wand Release and Hose Release buttons. Check the connections for anything blocking the tubes and clean them.

The vacuum gives off a burning smell

When the vacuum is on, it emits a burnt rubber smell.

The vacuum picked up an ember

Check to make sure you did not vacuum a hot ember from a match or cigarette. If this is the case, empty the dust bin with caution.

The drive belt is out of place or jammed

If the drive belt is out of place or jammed by large debris, the friction between the drive belt and the electric motor will cause a burning smell. Check to make sure the drive belt is in place, and remove any debris that has been caught in it.

The vacuum is excessively noisy

The vacuum is significantly louder than it has been in the past.

The vacuum has picked up a problematic item

Empty the dustbin. It’s possible that an item such as a screw or paperclip was picked up and is causing the noise.

The motor is faulty

If the motor does not work properly, replace it using this guide.
