Memory card not reading

The memory card cannot store any pictures.

No memory card inserted

On the bottom of the camera there is a compartment that houses the Memory card and the battery. To open it, slide the lock to the left to open. Check if the memory card is inserted, if it is not, insert a memory card. Then lock the compartment by sliding the lock to the right.

Memory card locked

On the side of the memory card there is a lock slide. This may be in the lock position, preventing the memory card from being read.

Memory Card is broken

The pins on the memory card may be scratched or there is a crack in the memory card causing the memory card not to be read.

Camera won't auto focus

The camera’s picture is always blurry.

Push capture button down halfway

On top of the camera the shutter button needs to be pushed halfway to auto focus on the object in the lens.

The front lens may be dirty

Dust or smudges could be present on the lens. Take a lens cleaner rag and gently clean/ wipe off the lens.

Camera could be in Auto focus or Manual Focus

Press the Menu button. Scroll down and Check if the Focus option is set to AF for Auto focus.

Flash is faulty

The flash does not work when I take a picture..

Flash is not popped up

Make sure the Flash is turned on. To do this, press the left directional pad with the downwards arrow (Flash Symbol)

Press the Flash Symbol button on the side of the camera, located next to the Flash.

Make sure your hand is not on top of the Flash.

Wiring or motherboard problems

A wiring connection on the motherboard may have gotten loose and is not connected. If not a component in the motherboard may have been short circuited and is now broken.

Flash is not set on

Make sure the Flash is turned on. To do this, press the left directional pad with the downwards arrow (Flash Symbol)

Press the Flash Symbol button on the side of the camera, located next to the Flash.

Flash is not needed

There may been enough light around the in-frame object so the camera’s flash in not necessary.

Camera wont turn on

Camera does not appear to have power.

Low Batteries

On the LCD screen locate the battery symbol in the top corner. If the Battery symbol has low bars or is flashing with no bars, this indicates that the battery is low on charge. Replace batteries.

No batteries

On the bottom of the camera there is a compartment that houses the Memory card and the battery. To open it, slide the lock to the left to open. Check if the battery is inserted, if it is not, insert a battery. Then lock the compartment by sliding the lock to the right.

LCD screen is broken

The camera may be on but the LCD screen is not lighting up. To check if it’s on try using the optical zoom while the camera is in auto mode. Also check to see if you can hear the shutter close when the shutter button is pressed.

Shutting down suddenly

The camera shuts off suddenly.

Low Batteries

On the LCD screen locate the battery symbol in the top corner. If the Battery symbol has low bars or is flashing with no bars, this indicates that the battery is low on charge, replace batteries.

Defective Batteries

Open the battery housing and check to make sure the receiver pins on the battery are not damaged and are clear of any debris. If problem persists replace battery entirely.

Mother board or wiring problems

The motherboard may have short circuited or some part of the motherboard may have broke. Seek a professional for assistance.

Cannot capture pictures

Pictures are not showing on the LCD screen

Capture button broken

Try pressing the shutter button and listen for the camera shutter sound to make sure the button is broken and not something else.

Camera not turned on

Press the Power Button to turn on the camera. If it is still not turning on the batteries might be dead, or not inserted.

Lens cap on the lens

Remove the lens cap by squeezing the edges of the lens cover, then take the lens cap off gently.

Hello, my camera has not been turning on for over a year. I have replaced the battery and it is still not turning on. The camera is not physically damaged and was fairly new. What can I do?
