Charging problems
If the camera fails to charge even with the charging cord in the camera port, refer to the following categories:
Does the camera indicate that the camera is charging with the cord plugged in?
When you connect the camera to an external source (i.e. a TV, charging port, etc.), there should be a charging indicator displayed on the screen
Does the cord securely connect into the camera port?
Make sure the cord can plug into the camera port securely, so the cord is not loose.
Are there any exposed wiring from the camera cord?
That would mean the charging cord is damaged. Use another micro USB cord to charge the camera or connect it to another source and see if the camera is experiencing issues rather than the cord. This may interfere with the correct connection that the camera needs.
Camera Won't Turn On
If the camera fails to turn on with the battery in the camera or whether the charging cord connected, please refer to the following categories:
Is the battery fully charged?
Try removing the battery and insert it back into the camera. Refer to the "Battery Replacement" in the Replacement Guide to locate where the battery is on the camera. If the camera does not turn on after trying this, resort to contacting Samsung Customer Support.
Does the battery sit securely in the slot of the camera?
The battery is located on the bottom of the camera, underneath a latched door, held by a blue stopper. Make sure the battery is snug behind the blue stopper, as it clicks back into place. If the battery does not sit securely, contact Samsung Customer Support.
Does the power button work?
If the battery sits in it's slot securely and fully charged, but there may still be a problem with turning the camera on, then there may be a problem with the power button. If the camera turns on quite frequently, but not all the time then the power button might be defected. If this is an issue, contact Samsung Customer Support.
Unresponsive/Frozen
If the camera does not respond to any button, the screen must be unresponsive. Try the methods below:
Does the camera take a while to move from screen to screen?
If the camera is very slow at reacting or unresponsive, there may be three factors that are making the camera run slowly. First, there may be too much data on the SD card. Second, the LCD screen may have issues reading the movement from the user. If that is an issue, contact Samsung Customer Support. Third, the motherboard may be an issue with loading correctly.
After turning the camera off and on, does it still freeze from time to time?
If the camera still freezes, it could be an issue with the motherboard.
Does it feel like the controls don't work or respond?
If the screen is unresponsive, you may have to replace the LCD screen in order to have the controls working on the camera. If this is the case, please contact the Samsung Customer Support.
Faulty Flash Button
If the flash does not respond correctly while taking the photos, try these troubleshooting topics:
Have you tried using the flash settings?
In the camera settings, turn the flash on by pressing on the symbol on the LCD screen.
Camera won't focus
Try setting the camera to auto focus when taking pictures. The camera has an auto focus setting to find where it should focus before taking the pictures.
If the camera still does not focus, there may be an issue with the lens or motherboard.
