The Device Will Not Power On

No matter what you try to do the phone will not power up.

Dead Battery

Try connecting the USB to your phone from the power source. Allow a few minutes and if the battery will not take a charge then you will have to replace the battery. Use this guide to replace the battery.

Bad Display

If your phone has a good battery and is taking a charge then it could be that your display is bad. If your device sounds like it is working but there is no picture on your screen, then you will need to replace the screen. To replace the screen use this guide.

Using the proper charger

Another possible issue could be the wrong charging cord. There is often confusion when replacing a broken or lost cord. Ensure that the cord is for the model of the device you have. Often when a cord is not right for the device the phone does not get charged properly which could lead to a damaged battery.

Ensuring device is in power saving mode

Having the phone in power saving mode allows the phone to only use the energy it needs with out depleting the battery. To place the phone in power saving mode simply go to the settings. Click my device and then tap the words power saving mode. If you tap once the device goes into power saving mode if tapped again the device turns off the power saving mode.

Making sure the battery and charge port are undamaged

Another reason for a sudden shutdown could be overheating or not connecting to the charger cord. Check the charge port at the base of the phone. If this piece is broken it could wobble in the socket or simply have some derby in it. When the charge port wobbles it needs to be replaced. If there is derby in it needs to be cleared. If the charge port is solid and clean then check the battery. An issue with battery could be a bulge which can cause over heating. If there is a bulge or crack the battery needs replaced.

Having the latest update

If the phone does not have the latest update the device can use extra energy to keep up to date. To make sure the device has the latest update go to the settings. Then proceed to about device, click software update, update now, and finally ok to confirm the update.

The Device Will Not Take Pictures/ The Pictures are Blurry

Pictures on the phone are appearing black or very distorted.

Lens is Damaged

The camera lens may have a crack in it, caused by visible or non visible damage. If it is cracked you will need to replace the camera lens using the provided guides.

The Camera will not focus correctly

You can modify the camera in the settings to try to bring the picture back into focus. If the photo will not focus at all then you will need to replace the camera. For back camera use this guide. For front facing camera use this guide.

No Sound Coming from the Device

While using the phone there is no sound.

Volume is Turned Off

While no sound from the device may be a complicated problem, most times the device may have the volume off or have the volume turned down too low. To increase the volume, locate the volume keys and press the top one until the device’s volume has increased. If the volume keys do not work, go to the settings menu in the phone, tap on the Sounds and Notification option and slide to adjust the volume level.

The Device May be Connected to Another Device via Bluetooth

Another possible cause of no sound may be the device is connected to another device. While connect to another device such as a speaker, the volume will be played through the connected device rather than the phone. To ensure that the device is not connected to any other device, turn off Bluetooth. To turn off Bluetooth, swipe down on top of the screen and select the settings icon. Select the Bluetooth option and turn the Bluetooth off.

There is Debris or Build Up in the Speakers

For the sound to be heard the speakers must be clear of debris or build up. Ensure that there is no debris or build up that is blocking the sound coming from the speakers. If there is debris, be sure to clear it from the speakers. One way to clean the speakers is using a dry soft-bristle tooth brush and scraping where the speakers are.

Device does not have the latest software update

A device that does not have the latest software update may contain bugs that will not allow the device to work properly. Ensuring the device has the latest update is a must. To check to see if the device is up to date, go to the settings, select About device, Software Update, the follow the on screen instructions. The device will then restart after the updates have installed.

Touch Screen is not working correctly

The touch screen is not responding to touch at all.

Screen is unresponsive to touch

The phone not responding to touch could be due to several different reasons. The first reason could be the you are trying to use a pen to operate the screen, with this device your bare skin or a stylus is required. Trying to use the screen with gloves or hand covering will not work. If the screen will not respond to normal finger touches the screen must be repaired. This guide will allow you to replace the touch screen.

Cracked touch screen

If your touch screen is cracked or shattered it can cause the screen to become unresponsive to your touch as well as damaging internal components. If this is the case you will need to replace the screen, for replacing the screen you will need to follow this guide.

Broken LCD/ Digitizer

If your device does not meet the above symptoms, your LCD/digitizer may be damaged. This will make the screen unresponsive.

Symptoms for a broken digitzer will include; zero or slow response from the touch screen, certain areas on the screen will respond erratically when touching the screen, and lastly some application may open at random times without a physical action taking place.

Trouble Connecting to the Internet

Your device is not connecting to the internet.

Airplane Mode is enabled

While airplane mode is enabled, this blocks most signals coming to your phone. If airplane mode is enabled this can prevent your phone from connecting to the internet. To disable Airplane Mode, press and hold the power button. and tap on Airplane Mode to turn it off

Latest Software is not Downloaded

Not having the latest software downloaded may hinder your device’s ability to connect to the internet. Having the latest software downloaded ensure that the device is up to date with all the bug fixes.

Cellular Plan does not include Internet

Check with your cellular service provider to ensure that your cellular plan includes internet.
