If your Samsung Galaxy Chromebook Go 14 (XE345XDA) powers on but the screen is black or unresponsive, follow this guide for possible solutions.
Battery Needs Charge
If you are using the original type-c charger, there may be a light or led on the Chromebook that may turn on to indicate that there is power running through the system when connected to an outlet.
- Once the charger is plugged in, please plug into the Chromebook and ensure that the light on the Chromebook turns on and indicates either red or green.
- Let the Chromebook charge for about 15 minutes before attempting to turn on the Chromebook.
If the Chromebook Screen does not come to life, then the battery may need to be replaced, the software may need to be updated, or there is a faulty motherboard.
Follow this guide to replace the battery (placeholder).
Brightness Settings Too Low
Ensure that the screen’s brightness is turned to a reasonable level of brightness that allows the user to be able to see the screen.
- There will be a button on the keyboard that alters the brightness of the screen.
- Please increase the brightness of the screen by pressing the larger of the two symbols on the brightness buttons.
If the type-c charger is operational and the Chromebook does not display any indicating light, it is a battery issue.
Needs a Reset
The screen may be unresponsive due to the fact there is no image being displayed.
- Attempt to turn the device on and off again by power cycling with the power button.
- If that did not work, attempt to hard reset the Chromebook by holding the power button for ten seconds.
- If that had not worked, then you possibly want to power wash (factory reset) the Chromebook by pressing CTRL + ALT + SHIFT +r to reset and follow prompts. This will wipe all data from the Chromebook and return it to factory
Display Connector Isn't Secure
This will require the Chromebook to be taken apart partially to ensure that the connections to the motherboard are correctly connected and working functionally.
- Remove the backplate from the underside of your Chromebook.
- Make sure the wires and connections leading from the display into the motherboard
