Saw Keeps Binding
When I try to cut through, the blade sticks to and/or gets stuck in the wood and will not move.
Replace Blade
If the saw binds when attempting to saw through wood, it may be because the blade is old and needs replacing. Please see the Ifixit Blade Replacement Guide on the Ryobi P501G Ifixit page for instructions on how to replace an old blade on the saw.
Saw Will Not Run
The saw won’t turn on
Replace Battery
You may have an old/dead battery that needs replacing. See the ifixit battery replacement guide to swap the old one out with a new one.

Trigger Dislodged
The trigger may be dislodged, not letting you actually turn it on. See the trigger replacement guide to see how to take out the trigger. Once it’s out, set it so that it is snug and fits into the encasement perfectly. This way it will actually connect correctly and allow you to turn it on.

Motor Making Noises
The motor/engine is humming, whirring, or clicking and won’t start.
Replace Motor
If your motor is making funny noises or not working, this probably means you need to replace it with a new one. Check the ifixit replacement guide on how to take out the motor and replace it with a new one.
Saw Retracts
The saw kicks back when I intend to cut through the wood in the opposite direction.
Blade Is Set Too Deep
Sometimes if the blade was set too deep during saw assembly (too much of the blade is exposed), it will cause the saw to kick back or retract. To set the blade properly, it must be removed (see blade repair guide) and put back so that less of the blade is exposed to the side that is cutting the wood.
2 Commenti
Went to use my cordless miter saw with a good fully charged battery and motor is siezed. Lock is off tried manually to spin blade no luck. Any advice aside buying another? Used only for a year and a half on small jobs

I got mine with the big power tool set, and can't seem to get the circular saw to even turn on. Rest of them work fine, but this one has never been used because it won't turn on
