Camera Quality and Sensor Not Working
My camera has poor quality, the camera is broken and/or not picking up subjects to record.
Low Camera Quality
Low camera quality can happen because there is not a strong wifi or connection between the doorbell and router. Check the Wifi-Problems section below.
Broken Camera
Since the camera is integrated into the motherboard, replacement of the motherboard may be needed to fix the camera.
Not Recording Subjects
The camera may not be able to record because of external debris on the camera and sensor. Try cleaning the sensor, and if the problem still persists, try replacing the sensor.
Audio Distortion/None at All
My Ring Doorbell has no audio coming out, or it has low-quality/choppy audio.
Lack of Audio
First, check to see if audio streaming and audio recording is enabled in the privacy settings. If the settings are enabled, and the problem still persists, perform a factory reset, or try replacing the microphone and speakers.
Low Quality/Choppy Audio
Low-quality/choppy audio is usually a cause of poor internet connection, data loss, or signal loss. Check the Wifi-Problems section below..
Power Runs Out Fast
My ring doorbell has a short battery life or is not charging efficiently.
Insufficient Battery Life
This problem may be caused by a damaged or old battery, which can be easily fixed by replacing the battery.
Not Charging
If the battery is not charging efficiently, it may be because of the wear and tear of the charging cord. Replace the cord used to charge the Ring Doorbell 3’s battery.
Button Is Not Registering
My Ring Doorbell’s button is not registering or is difficult to press.
Difficult to Press
The button could get stuck because of debris. To fix this, clean the area around the button, and possibly take off the front casing to get a deeper clean.
Button Is Not Working
If the button is pressed but nothing registers it could be related to wear and tear of the wiring that connects the button to the motherboard, so consider replacing the button with a new one.
Not Connecting to Wi-Fi
My ring doorbell has trouble connecting to the Wi-Fi.
Connection Issues
If there are connectivity issues, the problem may be related to the distance from the Ring doorbell to the router, causing slow internet speed. You can make the Wi-Fi better by moving your router closer to your Ring Doorbell, or get a Wi-Fi extender and put it closer to your Ring Doorbell.
