Photos or videos are not saving

The camcorder is not saving pictures and videos.

An SD card is not inserted

The device requires a compatible SD card to be inserted to save videos and pictures. If there are problems with the SD card check SD card doesn’t work for help. To insert an SD card, open the flap on the bottom. Then place a compatible SD card in the SD card slot.

The device is in the wrong mode

Videos can only be recorded in camcorder mode and pictures can only be taken in camera mode. To change the current mode of the camera press the mode button. There are three modes: camcorder mode, camera mode, and viewing mode. They cycle in that order when pressing the mode button.

SD card doesn't work

This problem will cause the camcorder to display a “card error” message or prevent the camcorder from starting when an SD card is inserted.

The SD card is not formatted properly

If the card error message shows up, then the memory card could need formatting. Formatting will erase all data on the SD card and allow it to be used with the device. To do this switch the camera to either video or photo mode using the "mode" button. Press the menu key to bring up the menu. Using the arrow keys, navigate to the setup option. Then select the "Format" option.

The SD card is not compatible

Some SD cards are incompatible with this device. Most notably, this device only officially supports up to 32GB SD cards. Any cards with more memory than 32GB might not work properly with this device.

The SD card reader is defective

If a compatible, functional SD card is inserted into the device and it still provides a "card error" message, then the SD card reader could be defective. The SD card reader is unfortunately difficult to replace. If the SD card reader is defective, then the only option is to either have a professional fix it or to buy a new device.

Blurry or low quality image

The image appears blurred or of lower quality than expected.

Camcorder is set to a lower resolution

In the camcorder settings, verify that the resolution is set to the desired setting. To accomplish this, press the menu button. Once the menu is up, press up or down until the resolution option is selected. Press “OK”. A list of resolutions will then be given. Select the desired resolution and press the “OK” button to set the camcorder to that resolution.

The camcorder is too close

The camcorder requires that the camcorder be at a minimum distance of 1.0m In order to function properly. Any distance closer than this would result in a blurred image. To fix this simply stand further back. The zoom function can be used in order to compensate for the larger distance.

The display screen won't turn on

The display screen for the camcorder remains off while attempting to view teh display screen.

The battery is dead

Attempt to plug the device into the wall and see if the display screen lights up. If it does, then the battery either has inefficient charge or is defective. For help view the "Device not powering on" section for more help.

The display screen is damaged

If plugging the device in doesn't turn on the display screen, the the screen may need to be replaced. If the device appears to be on but the display screen is still off, then the display screen can be replaced using the Display Screen Replacement Guide.

The wires connecting the display screen are damaged

If the wires inside the camcorder are damaged, then the wires can be repaired. For more information check the Teardown for Wire Fixing Guide.

The camcorder will not charge

While plugged in, the camcorder will not charge up.

The supplied wall charger is defective

The device should be able to turn on while plugged in with or without the battery inserted. If the wall charger fails to charge the camcorder while plugged in, then the wall charger could be defective or damaged. Attempt to charge the device with another compatible charger.

The battery is defective

Remove the battery and plug the device into the wall charger. If it won't turn on when the battery is in or the device never reaches an adequate charge, the battery is likely to be defective. This requires a new battery to be purchased in order to replace the defective battery.

The charging port is defective

If none of the above solutions fix the problem, then the charger port itself could be defective. The charger port is part of the motherboard meaning that it is either difficult or impossible to replace the charging port without professional assistance.

Device not powering on

The device will not power on when attempting to turn it on.

The battery has insufficient charge

If the device will not turn on unless it is plugged into the wall charger then it may need to be charged more. Charge the battery until the device has an adequate charge. Try turning it on while it is charging in order to check how much of a charge the battery currently has.

The battery is defective

Remove the battery and plug the device into the wall charger. If it won't turn on when the battery is in or the device never reaches an adequate charge, the battery is likely to be defective. This requires a new battery to be purchased in order to replace the defective battery.

Buttons are unresponsive

When buttons on the device are pressed, the device doesn't respond.

The camera is powered and unresponsive or "frozen"

If the screen is on and displays only a static image, then the camcorder may be "frozen". To fix this either power off the device or carefully remove the battery, then try turning it on with the battery reinserted.

The buttons are broken

Unfortunately, this device uses custom made digital buttons. If a button breaks, then a new part would need to be either made or purchased from the company that produces the part.
