If your Nikon Coolpix s6000 is not turning on, follow this page for possible solutions.
Missing Battery
In order for the camera to turn on, a battery must be correctly placed in the battery compartment at located on the bottom of the camera.
Battery Not Charged
The battery for the Nikon Coolpix camera must be the EN-EL 12 battery and must be charged at least an hour in advance. For this specific battery, a EN-EL specific charger must be acquired. To charge the battery, plug in the EN-EL charging box directly into a standard Type B Outlet, and slide the battery in the compartment, ensuring the silver prongs are lined up with the silver boxes on the battery. Charging can take up to an hour, so take care to ensure the battery has been left in the charger for long enough. Once charged, place the battery into the battery compartment of the camera.
Incorrect Button Pressed
In the case that the previous two steps did not change the status of the camera, it is advised that the user ensures they are turning on the camera using the correct button.
The button for turning on the camera is on the top of the Nikon Camera, next to the shutter button, and is the smallest button on the top of the camera. The button is to the left of the shutter button and located on the middle right. To turn on, press the button for 1-3 seconds until the display has turned on and the lens raises from its resting position.
