Camera is Not Turning On

The camera is not responding or showing any sign of powering up.

Uncharged Battery

Your camera is most likely out of battery. Recharging the camera will solve this problem.

Dirty Battery Compartment

The battery compartment might be contaminated with foreign material. In this case, the compartment should be cleared or cleaned.

Faulty Battery

Your battery could be defective and you will need to purchase a new one.

Broken Screen

The screen displays unusual color or visual cracks.

Screen Discoloration

Try the factory reset option in your camera's menu as a possible fix. Otherwise, you will have to purchase a new screen and follow the replacement instructions of the Nikon Coolpix P90 LCD Screen Replacement guide.

Cracked Screen

Unfortunately, there is no way to repair a cracked screen without replacing the screen itself. After purchasing a new screen, you can replace it using the Nikon Coolpix P90 LCD Screen Replacement guide.

Flash is Not Firing

The flash is not working as usual.

Flash Setting is Disabled

Confirm that the flash is turned on. Enable the flash by pressing either the top button on the D-pad with a flash arrow symbol or the flash button on the side of the camera body to open the flash compartment.

Modes

Some shooting modes automatically have the flash setting turned off (i.e. Video, Landscape).

Low Battery

The flash setting requires a good amount of power, so make sure the battery is adequately charged.

Broken/Burnt Out Flash Bulb

The flash bulb may be burnt out and will need to be replaced. Use the Nikon Coolpix P90 Flash Bulb Replacement guide to help do so.

Problems Saving Pictures

Recently taken photos are not displaying in saved images.

Missing Memory Card

Ensure that your memory card is inserted in the camera.

Full Memory Card

Check if there is enough space on the memory card. If your memory card has no free space, you will need to transfer your memory card's data onto a laptop or CD, and delete the data on the memory card or purchase a new memory card. This camera is only compatible with SD and SDHC memory cards.

Camera Turns On But Doesn't Work

The camera seems to turn on, but does not function as expected, refusing to take pictures, failing to navigate the memory card, preventing access to the settings, or exhibiting other issues.

Bad motherboard

It's possible that the motherboard, which runs the camera's operating system, has been damaged. In this event, the entire unit must be replaced. Refer to the Nikon Coolpix P90 Motherboard Replacement guide for help.
