Screen is black and won't respond

Screen just stays black.

Phone is off

Hold down the power button.

If the phone does not turn on, remove the battery and wait 15 seconds. Replace the battery and attempt to turn the phone on again to see if the problem is resolved.

Drained/bad battery

If the phone is out of battery power, the screen won't respond until the phone battery is charged. A replacement battery may also be necessary. To learn how to change the battery click here.

Damaged flex cable

The flex cable signals the phone to turn the screen on when the phone is open. If the flex cable is damaged, the phone will not respond when any of the buttons are being pressed. Replacing the top half of the phone is the best option. A guide for this can be found here.

Bad display

The display might have gone bad due to a multitude of traumas. Replacing the display is the best option. To replace the display, follow the steps here.

Bad motherboard

The motherboard of the phone might need to be replaced for the phone to work properly again. To see a guide on how to replace the motherboard, click here.

Phone display is frozen

The phone has an image on the screen, but will not respond to buttons being pressed or closing the phone.

Phone needs to be reset

Attempt to turn the phone off by pressing the power button, and then turn it back on. If the phone would not power off, battery removal is necessary. Remove the battery from the phone to reset the phone. To see a guide on how to remove the battery, click here. Wait a few seconds before returning the battery to the phone and powering your phone back on.

Phone needs a hard reset

A hard reset will erase all of the phone data. To perform a hard reset, follow the series of button navigation: MENU --> SETTINGS --> ADVANCED -->RESET DEFAULTS --> RESET ALL. Upon completion, a prompt will ask for the phone's six digit security code (default 000000), after entering, read the disclaimer that will appear and select "yes".

Phone will not hold a charge

The phone dies very quickly.

Charge sufficiently

Before charging, check to make sure that the charger is working properly. If the charger seems to have no problems, charge the phone for four hours to assure a full charge.

Battery has gone bad

If the battery has gone bad, replacing it is the best option. For a guide on battery replacement, click here.

Phone buttons are not working

The phone does not respond when buttons are pressed.

Keypad is out of place

If the keypad is not where it is supposed to be inside the phone, the buttons will not function properly. Open the phone and adjust the keypad to its proper location. To see a guide to remove the keypad, click here.

Keypad not functioning

Replace the keypad with a new one. To see how to replace the keypad, click here.

Phone has a crack/damaged part

The phone has an unsightly crack.

Order a part from the manufacturer

Order the proper replacement part from the manufacturer to replace it, or send the phone to the manufacturer to have them replace the part for you.
