Cell Phone will not turn on

Your Cell phone fails to turn on after pressing the power button.

Battery is not properly installed

Check that the battery is correctly installed in the casing, with nothing blocking the connection between the battery and the phone.

Refer to this guide for proper installation techniques.

Incorrect or damaged charger

Check that the charger is correctly plugged into the cell phone, if possible attempt to use another charger that will function with your phone.

Dead or damaged battery

Replace the battery. If this does not fix the problem, you may need to replace the logic board, as a connection in the phone is likely damaged.

Cell Phone has distorted or no audio

Your Cell phone sound quality is lacking, or completely nonexistent.

Bad connection

The phones speaker is connected with metal contacts. Check the connection between the logic board and the speakers to be sure it is properly connected.

Refer to the second picture on step 12 of this guide for help locating these connections.

Damaged Speaker

In order to fix a damaged speaker, you will need to replace it.

Phone Turns on, but LCD screen stays black

Your cell phone will turn on, but the screen will not turn on.

Bad connection

Check the connection between the logic board and the LCD screen. Be sure it is firmly connected.

Refer to this guide for help locating these connections.

Phone keypad is broken or unresponsive

Your cell phone keypad does not respond when a button is pressed, or button(s) are broken.

Check keypad placement

Check that the keypad is positioned correctly in the cell phone.

Replace the keypad

Refer to this guide for replacing your broken keypad.

Your phone is blocked by a SIM PIN

Your phone will not work correctly because it is blocked by a SIM PIN.

You incorrectly attempted to enter your SIM PIN 3 times

Refer to your Users Guide (page 23) for unblocking a SIM PIN.

Phone software is out of date

Your current phone software is causing compatibility or other issues.

Checking your phone software version

Find your current phone software version using this guide.

Update your software

To update your software follow the steps provided by the Motorola web site found here.

Your phone suddenly stops responding to anything

Your phone may have been working previously, but suddenly will not turn on, and the battery is not the problem.

Your phone is "bricked"

Refer to this guide for replacing your phones logic board.
