If your Milwaukee M12 2951-20 does not power on and is unresponsive when you press the power button, follow this page for possible solutions.
Reseating the M12 Battery Pack
Battery seating issues commonly stem from loose, corroded, or improperly fitted battery terminals, causing starting issues, dim lights, or electrical failures.
- Check for Blinking Lights: If a light is blinking, it may indicate a temperature issue or a fault (flashing red/green indicates a battery seating issue or faulty pack).
- Reseat the Battery: The M12 battery must be firmly locked into place. Remove the battery and slide it back in, ensuring it clicks securely. Due to the tight fit, you may need to apply significant pressure.
- AA Batteries may need to be replaced or reseated. Follow this guide.
Checking the Battery Charge
The replaceable M12 battery may need to be charged.
- Check Charge Level: Ensure the M12 battery is charged. Use the fuel gauge on the battery to confirm, or place it on the charger (if the unit is plugged into AC power).
Cleaning the Battery Contacts
The device might not power on due to dirty battery contacts.
- Clean Contacts: Clean the battery terminals and the tool's contacts using a clean, dry cloth or a cotton swab with isopropyl alcohol to remove any debris or corrosion.
