If your Miadore Classic N64 Controller registers input that wasn't applied and causes unwanted movement in the game you're playing, refer to this troubleshooting page for possible causes and solutions.

Joystick Is Off Center

The joystick may be out of its original position. The Miadore Classic N64 Controller, like other N64 controllers, does not include a built-in calibration menu. However, you can 'reset' the joystick to its original center position, effectively recalibrating it. To do this, hold down both bumper buttons and the "start" button simultaneously.

The Joystick is Dirty

Clean off any debris from the Joystick cover especially at the base with alcohol wipes or a cotton swab and isopropyl alcohol. Don't get the device wet, just use enough alcohol to dampen the swab. If that doesn't solve the problem, the dirty area is probably in the interior. You will have to remove the joystick cover and clean the joystick box connectors. Use this guide to access the joystick internally.

The Joystick is Damaged

When controllers have been used for quite a while, the joystick can get worn out, which causes the joystick not to register the specific input you want. The Miadore Classic N64 analog/joysticks tend to get worn out quickly, so you will need to replace the joystick with a new one. (Joystick Replacement)
