If your Lenovo ThinkPad E14 Gen 4 is not charging, follow the steps below to get your device back up and running.

Before opening your Lenovo, first make sure that your device is completely powered off and that your charging cable is disconnected. Make sure there is no electricity actively flowing through the device before servicing it.

Having too many active applications or programs running can drain battery life faster.
Close unnecessary programs or applications running to reduce drain on battery.

Go to your Settings > System > Power & Battery. Try setting it to the Power Save option to reduce power usage.
Or you can try right-clicking on the battery icon and selecting "Power Options". You can find more advanced power and battery management options within the Lenovo Vantage application under My Device Settings > Power.

Use Fn+Q to switch between thermal modes, which can affect performance and power consumption

On the bottom of the laptop, there is a small pinhole, called the emergency reset hole, with a recessed button inside. Using a straightened paperclip, press the button and hold for 10-15 seconds.

It is possible that the problem is a loose battery connector. Open your ThinkPad, locate the battery, and check wires and connections to make sure everything is secure and not physically damaged. If there is no damage visible to the inside of the charging port, check to make sure the port is secure and not displaced within the device, and try using a different, compatible charging cable. Batteries for this laptop last, on average, 2-4 years, or about 300-500 full charge cycles. If both battery connections and the charging port are functioning without any physical damage visible, check the age of the battery itself.
