Bluetooth Fails to Connect

The Bluetooth feature fails to connect with a device.

Not Connected

Ensure the Hover-1 is turned on with a solid green light displayed. On your device, go to Settings > Bluetooth and select HY-CHR. A voice-over will confirm connection by saying "paired". This step only needs to be completed the first time pairing to that device. The Hover-1 should now connect to the last device it paired with immediately after being turned on.

Device Interference

If your Bluetooth device is failing to pair with your Hover-1, make sure all other devices close by are turned off and disconnected. The Hover-1 can only pair with one device at a time.

Faulty Bluetooth Receiver

If connection continues to "cut out" or fail at a reasonable distance, then the Bluetooth receiver must be replaced. You can find this guide here.

Wheels Spin at Different Speeds

The Hover-1 only spins in circles when ridden.

Weight Imbalance

Ensure rider's dominant foot is not applying more force than non-dominant foot. This will cause the dominant sides' wheel to spin faster. Stand flat on the board and slowly rotate feet forward from the ankle at the same time.

Uncalibrated Sensors

An incorrectly calibrated gyroscopic sensor will misinterpret weight positioning on the pads of the Hover-1. If it cannot determine which direction the rider is leaning or how far they are leaning, the wheels will not spin at the same speed, if at all. Learn how to re-calibrate your Hover-1 on page 16 of the operations manual.

Loose Wire Connections

If a motor wire is slightly unplugged, it will not receive its proper voltage and therefore not spin as fast as the other wheel. The wires can be inspected after disassembling your Hover-1. Learn how to disassemble the Hover-1 here.

Fails to Sense Rider After a Crash

The Hover-1 doesn't respond to the weight of a rider on the board.

Dislodged Battery

After a crash, the battery may have been shifted within the Hover-1 casing. A dislodged battery could cause a number of small interference problems that can easily be remedied by moving it back into place. Learn how to set the battery back into place here.

Uncalibrated Sensors

The gyroscopic sensor may have been tweaked after a crash, requiring a recalibration. Learn how to re-calibrate your Hover-1 on page 16 of the operations manual.

Damaged Motherboard

It is possible the electrical components were damaged after a Hover-1 takes a spill. Learn how to replace your motherboard here.

Continuous Flashing Red Light

The rider steps on the Hover-1 and red lights begin flashing on the fenders of the board. Then the board spins powerlessly out of control.

Uncalibrated Sensors

An uncalibrated gyroscopic sensor within the Hover-1 can cause red lights to flash on the fenders. Learn how to re-calibrate your Hover-1 on page 16 of the operations manual.

Damaged Motherboard

The flashing red lights are indicative of an internal problem within the Hover-1. Many of these internal problems lead back to a malfunction in the motherboard that will most likely require a replacement. Learn how to replace your motherboard here.

Only One Wheel Works

One wheel of the Hover-1 does not spin despite a rider attempting to operate it.

Loose Wire Connections

If any wire connected to the motherboard is not fully plugged in, the hoverboard has potential to not operate. Ensure that all connecting wires are fully plugged in. The wires can be inspected after disassembling your Hover-1. Learn how to disassemble the Hover-1 here.

Damaged Motherboard

Any damage to the motherboard within the hoverboard could result in a malfunction to that side of the board. Learn how to replace your motherboard here.
