HP ProBook 440 G6 Unresponsive Touchpad
The touchpad does not respond to any movement.
Software error
Try turning the touchpad off and on by double-tapping the top left corner of the touchpad.
Connection issue
- Turn off the laptop and disconnect the Charger.
- Make sure to remove any discs from the disc drive.
- Disconnect all non-essential devices such as external hard drives, USB flash drives, etc.
- Press and hold the power button for approximately 15 seconds.
- Once you’ve powered down your device, reconnect the charger and turn on your laptop.
Hardware Error
Run tests in the device's hardware diagnostics UEFI to test the touchpad, then follow the on-screen instructions.
- Hold the power button for at least 5 5 seconds to turn off your computer.
- Turn on the computer and immediately press the esc key repeatedly about once every second. When you see the menu, press the f2 key.
- On the main menu, click "Component Tests".
- To run the tests, click "Mouse/Touchpad", select the test to run, click "Run Once", and then follow the on-screen instructions to complete the test.
Windows system issue
- Update your Windows 11 or Windows 10. You can do this by typing "Check for updates" in your windows search bar. After the updates install, restart your computer when prompted.
- If the issue persists, perform a Windows system reset displayed as "Advanced reset".
