HP ProBook 440 G6 Loud Fans
When using your laptop for a prolonged time, the fans start to get very loud.
Loud mode on
Go down to the windows search bar and search for HP command center. On the “Thermal Profile” tab, select the quiet mode.
Unclean air vents
If the first fix doesn’t work, try this instead:
- Power down your device by pressing and holding the power button for approximately fifteen seconds.
- Ensure that there is nothing blocking the fan vents on the sides of your device.
- Use a vacuum to remove the dust from the vent underneath and on the side of the computer.
- When you turn on the computer again, make sure to place it on a hard surface. Placing it on soft surfaces or cloth surfaces might result in a restricted or blocked airflow, which can cause overheating or potential damage if prolonged restriction/block occurs.
Windows system issue
- Update your Windows 11 or Windows 10. You can do this by typing "Check for updates" in your windows search bar. After the updates install, restart your computer when prompted.
- If the issue persists, perform a Windows system reset displayed as "Advanced reset".
Outdated graphics driver
- Make sure your device is connected to the internet.
- Use HP support assistance or HP support website to find the latest graphics driver for your device (HP ProBook 440 g6).
- In the windows search bar, type "HP Support Assistance" and click it. If the app is not already installed in your device, download the latest version from the HP Support assistance website. Go to the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads in the website to download the app.
