Many controllers can experience charging or battery problems over time. Before considering a hardware repair, try the following steps to check and reset the GameSir Nova 2 Lite’s battery system.
Software Failure
The first step with any device should be to turn it off and on again.
- Hold down the central power button until its light turns off
- Then plug your controller back in and see if it charges properly
Faulty Cable
Before you work on the battery, make sure the problem is not with your USB-C cable.
- Test your outlet by plugging in your phone or other device, and checking that it is charging
- If the outlet is working properly, try charging your GamSir Nova 2 Lite with a different USB-C cable
If your battery is still not charging with a different cord, check that the charging port is clear of obstructions.
Charging Port Is Obstructed
Dust or lint can sometimes get stuck inside the charging port and interfere with charging.
- Make sure the GamSir Nova 2 Lite is powered off before proceeding.
- Use a non-metallic tool, such as a wooden toothpick or a plastic straw you have cut into a point, and gently scrape around the inside of the charging port to remove any dust or lint that has been trapped there.
Outdated Firmware
It is always possible that there is an issue with your GameSir Nova 2 Lite’s firmware. You may need to update the firmware to a more recent version.
- First, make sure you are installing the firmware intended for your specific model, installing firmware for the wrong device will lead to your GameSir Nova 2 Lite becoming unresponsive
- Open the GameSir App on your smartphone
- Pair your controller via Bluetooth or USB
- Navigate to Device Settings → Firmware Update
- Install any available updates
Damaged Battery
If nothing else works, you may need to replace the battery. Batteries degrade over time and the battery may have reached the end of its lifespan.
