If the device battery will not stay charged or dies quickly, follow this troubleshooting page for potential solutions.
Wrong Connection Mode
Different modes consume different amounts of power.
2.4 GHz Wireless = Highest power usage, Bluetooth = Medium, Wired USB-C = No battery usage
Fix: Try switching to Bluetooth instead of 2.4 GHz, or use wired mode when possible.
Lighting Settings are Enabled
The Cyclone 2’s RGB strip significantly increases power draw.
Fix:
Lower brightness
Turn off dynamic effects
Disable RGB entirely through:
GameSir Connect App (PC)
Or controller shortcut (Home + D-Pad combinations depending on mode)
Vibration Strength Set Too High
The controller uses asymmetric rumble motors, which are power-intensive.
Fix:
Turn vibration strength down or off in:
In-game settings (if supported)
Battery is Not Calibrated
If the controller is new, the battery may not be fully conditioned yet.
Fix (Battery Calibration):
Use the Cyclone 2 until it shuts off.
Charge it uninterrupted to 100%.
Repeat 1–2 cycles.
This helps the internal battery management system recalibrate.
Old or Damaged Charger
A weak charger may not fully charge the 860 mAh battery.
Fix:
Use a 5V/2A power brick
Use a high-quality USB-C cable
Charge from a wall adapter, not a PC port
Firmware Is Out of Date
Some early firmware versions are known to have power-related bugs.
Fix:
Connect to the GameSir Connect software on PC → Check for updates.
Background Features Left On
Cyclone 2 settings persist between uses.
Features that increase battery drain: Turbo mode, Hair-trigger mode, High polling rate (1000 Hz in 2.4 GHz mode)
Fix:
Disable Turbo
Disable hair triggers
Switch connection mode to reduce polling rate demand
Controller Left in Wireless Mode Too Long When Idle
If the controller is idle but still connected, it drains battery slowly.
Fix:
Enable auto-sleep (usually default) or manually power it off when not in use.
Faulty Battery
