The camera will not turn on

The camera will not respond when holding down the power button.

The camera is not charged

If the camera will not turn on, the camera may be out of battery. A fully charged battery should last around 470 shots. If the battery needs to be charged, it can be done in one of two ways:

1) Open the flap on the right side of the camera. Plug one end of the charging cable into the camera and the other end of the cable into the wall adapter.

2) Open the battery compartment on the bottom of the camera by sliding the switch towards "open". Push the orange tab to remove the battery. Slide the battery into the battery wall charger and plug it into the outlet.

The camera charger is faulty

If you have already attempted to charge the camera and it still will not power on, then the camera charger might be broken.

If you are using the cable to charge the camera and you see the cord is visibly damaged, then you should buy a new cable. If there is no physical damage to the cord, then the wall adapter may need to be replaced.

The battery is faulty

If you have already attempted to charge the camera and it still does not turn on, then you may have a faulty battery and you need to replace the battery.

The motherboard is faulty

If you discover that the battery is not the issue, then the problem most likely lies within the motherboard, and you should refer to the motherboard replacement guide.

The screen is unresponsive

The camera screen has no image or the image is frozen.

The camera is off

If the screen appears black, then the camera may not be turned on. You should hold down the power button to assure the camera is on.

The lens cap is on

If the screen is still black when the camera is turned on, then make sure the lens cap has been properly removed.

The display cable is loose or disconnected

If the screen is black when the camera is turned on, then make sure the display cable is properly connected from the camera to the LCD screen.

The screen is faulty

If the screen is still appearing black when the display cable has been reattached, then the screen is most likely faulty and needs to be replaced.

The motherboard is faulty

If these solutions do not solve the problem, then the camera is unresponsive most likely due to a faulty motherboard. Refer to the motherboard replacement guide.

The camera will not focus

When trying to take the picture, the image appears blurred.

The lens is dirty

If the lens is dirty, then use a cleaning cloth to gently wipe away any smudge marks or dirt.

The lens is cracked or scratched

If you see any type of physical damage to the lens, then you should replace the lens.

The motherboard is faulty

If the photo still appears blurry after replacing the lens, then you should refer to the motherboard replacement guide.

You didn't mention lcd view button. Seems funny something wrong with motherboard if that OK. Are you suggesting it is simply a software problem or a hardware one! If eye view is working does that make a difference?

I can see stains of black around the screen of my Fujifilm X30. It looks like a blank vignette around the frame of the screen. Is the screen faulty? Thanks in advance.
