Distorted camera
Camera display may seem distorted or foggy
Dirty Camera lens
Sometimes the issue is as simple as a dirty camera lens. To fix this issue all you need is a soft dampened cloth or a non-streak surface cleaner to clean the camera lens. If the camera is still distorted, you may have to take the lens out and clean the inside of it as well.
*******if you take your camera apart to clean the inside lens, be sure your camera is turned off.
To keep the lens from getting dirty too often you can apply hydrophobic fluid, or a cover over your camera when it is not in use.
Note: If the lens is scratched it needs to be replaced.
Defective Assembly
A distorted or foggy image on your camera could be a connection issue. A way to fix this is by checking your cables by making sure they aren't split or disconnected. If there is a split in your wiring the best way to fix it would be with electrical tape and a splicing tool.
Camera replacement: If camera is still distorted then it means it's time for a replacement. When you buy your new camera, you simply install it by following the guide in the package.
Device doesn’t power on
The camera is not charging when plugged in.
You Could Have Dirt or Debris in the Charging Port
Look inside the charging port for any dirt in it. If you find the dirt, remove it. You can use a toothpick, an antistatic brush, or a soft toothbrush to remove the dirt. After removing the grime, try charging; if it doesn't work, the charging port is probably damaged and should be repaired.
Note: When you are cleaning your charging port apply a gentle amount of force to avoid scratching or breaking the inside.
To recover after cleaning the charging port follow these steps:
- Step 1: Make sure both camera and display are turned off
- Step 2: turn both camera and display back on after plugging charging port in
Circuit Breaker Fuse
The adapter of the camera has a fuse inside the end that connects to the adaptor in your car. You may probably open your adapter and remove the tip to check the fuse.
When disassembling, take caution because there are springs and other little pieces. A clear cylinder with two metal ends and a thin wire in the center is the fuse's inside. Your fuse has blown and needs to be changed if the wire is broken. Once repaired, your camera ought to function.
Wire replacement: When you've tried everything to fix your wires and it still wont power on your device you may need to buy a new set of wires. Be sure to buy the correct wires that are listed in your installment guide on the pamphlet in your Back up cameras original package.
Faulty Wire Connection
Your device is having trouble due to wire positioning.
The device is not properly connected to your vehicle
To ensure the device is connected to your vehicle properly, try taking out the main car charger adapter and plugging it back in with a small amount of force to make sure it is connected.
The wiring is Faulty

* Second, check the wires to see if there are any tangled or twisted wires.
- Lastly, check the wires to see if any are overheating causing the device to malfunction.
The device is not receiving power
Ensure your vehicle car charging adapter outlet is working properly and sending power to your device. Check your vehicle’s fuse box to ensure the device is receiving power. Do Not touch any metal pieces if your device is on. This is to avoid being shocked/ electrocuted.
Wire replacement: When you've tried everything to fix your wires and it still wont power on your device you may need to buy a new set of wires. Be sure to buy the correct wires that are listed in your installment guide on the pamphlet in your Back up cameras original package.
Images are delayed from the camera to the screen
Delayed screen image
Display lag
When the images displayed on your screen don't match what's happening on camera your device may just need to be reset. Try turning your screen and camera off for 10 seconds then turning your device back on.
If the issue persists, shut off both screen and camera again and disconnect your camera's wires and reconnect.
Display stuck on one image
''''When your display is stuck on one issue it's more than likely caused by your connection. Unplug your wires and check your guide pamphlet in the box to see if they are connected properly into the right ports.
Flickering Display
Your display is flickering or glitching on the screen.
Cracks or scratches on the screen
To ensure that the integrity of the camera is not compromised, follow these steps of the reboot process:
Step 1: Turn off your vehicle completely to avoid the device receiving power while you are looking at it.
Step 2: Unplug the device from the car charger adapter and closely examine the screen of the camera to see if there are any cracks or scratches on the screen.
Step 3: Wait at least 15 minutes after unplugging the camera. After that, plug the device back in and turn it on to see if the problem is resolved.
Water damage to the device
Ensure the device is not exposed to water in any way. Do not shake the device if water does get inside, this could cause the water to spread more throughout the device causing more damage and leading to a systems failure of the device.
Screen Recovery/Replacement
If the above steps are not effective, the next option would be to replace the screen entirely with a brand-new one.
Follow these steps after you have purchased your new screen:
Step 1: Carefully disconnect the device from the car charger adapter to ensure there is nothing powering the device.
Step 2: Carefully disconnect the wires from the back of the device.
Step 3: Connect the new screen to the device ensuring that it is secured and placed down correctly.
Step 4: Turn the device back on
