Controller Powers on Then Immediately Turns Off

The controller turns on and lights up for a few seconds then shuts off.

Outdated Firmware

The most common cause of a controller turning off after being powered on is outdated software. To fix this issue, update your controller's driver on your laptop or gaming console. The driver is only supported by Windows systems. Download the T39 & T39 Pro Update Software to your gaming console or PC to update your controller.

Faulty Charging Cable

A failure to charge may be causing the controller to power on and immediately turn off, to fix this replace the charging cable.

Faulty Battery

If the controller boots up and immediately powers off, this could be caused by a malfunctioning battery. To fix this, replace the battery.

Controller Won’t Charge

 Controller fails to charge even when left to charge for hours.

Dirty Charging Port

Use a clean cloth or an air duster to remove any debris which may be obstructing the charging port.

Faulty USB

The USB end of the charging cable may be broken or worn out and may cause the controller to not charge. To fix this, purchase a new USB or replace the faulty one.

Damaged Charging Cable

Issues pertaining to the controllers ability to charge may be caused by a faulty or defective charging cable. Consider purchasing a new charging cable to replace the faulty one to fix this issue.

Programming Error

To fix an issue regarding the programming of the controller buttons, press and hold on the button that needs to be reprogrammed such as M1, M2, M3, or M4. Hold one and click on the start button. This will make the device enter programming mode, the indicator will light up purple.

Buttons Programmed to Wrong M Button

Press and hold on the button you want to program to one of the M's. For example, program button A to M1. You can also combine buttons like A and X and Y buttons to M1. Press the M1 button again to finish programming and the indicator will turn blue. You can follow these steps for any mode.

Residue Build Up

Joystick drift is often caused by the controller passively being exposed to particles floating in the air. To avoid this, store the controller in a safe area and wipe down the joysticks to remove debris.

Faulty Joystick

Joystick drift can also be caused by a defective joystick. Consider replacing the joysticks themselves or purchasing a new controller.

Calibration Issues

Joystick drift can be cause by the controller not being properly calibrated to fix this you may have to go into your systems settings to reset the calibrations of the controller.

  • Step One: Open the control panel on your computer.
  • Step Two: Double click the game controller link.
  • Step Three: Click the joystick in the control panel.
  • Step Four: Hold down SHIFT and CTRL and then click properties.
  • Step Five: Click on the test tab and then the settings tab.
  • Step Six: Then click calibrate and follow the instructions of the Device Calibration Wizard.

Controller Won’t Maintain a Wireless Connection to Another Device

The controller will connect to my device and then immediately disconnects.

Controller has Disconnected from Being Idle

Controllers have a feature to turn off after not being used in a certain amount of time. You may need to turn the controller back on and reconnect.

Low Battery

The controller battery could be dead causing the controller to disconnect. If the batteries are low, the controllers wireless signal strength may be weak. You will have to charge the controller in order to have the controller stay connected to your device.

Faulty USB Port

The problem could be from the usb port you have the dongle plugged into. Try moving it to a different port. If you have no other ports try cleaning out the port with some compressed air.

Controller is too far Away

The controller has a limited range of connection so you may have to be closer to your device to maintain a connection to your device.

Drivers are out of date

Depending on your device you may need to download drivers in order for the controller to work and depending on when you downloaded them they may need to be updated for the controller to stay connected. The driver for this device can be found on this page under “Driver for Game Controllers”.

Hardware Error

The EasySMX ESM 9110 is not supported by official XBOX hardware like the XBOX One and XBOX 360. To fix this issue switch to a game console that the controller supports. For a Linux device it may not be recognizing the correct name of the device you may have to change $ sudo xboxdrv — device-by-id 2f24:0091 — type xbox 360 — device-name ‘EasySMX ESM 9110’ — silent, to get the controller to connect properly.
