Drone Not Capturing Video

Video does not appear on the phone or is distorted.

Phone App Not Connecting to the Drone

If the app does not open with a real-time video of the drone’s surroundings, the app is not correctly connected to the drone. If the app doesn’t show a live video of the drone’s surroundings check to make sure that your phone is connected to the Wi-Fi network “DC-014S”. If the feed from the camera still isn’t popping up try reinstalling the app by deleting it and downloading it again on the app store. Finally, if the app still isn’t connecting contact the company using their email: support@drocon.co and they will help you to solve the problem.

Camera is Not Secured Correctly

If the app is correctly connected and you’ve ensured that the issue isn’t your phone, check to make sure that the camera is firmly connected to the drone by visually inspecting the screws near the camera. There is a possibility that it could have come loose during flight. If the screw is loose use a Phillips 00 screwdriver to tighten the screw.

Camera is Broken

If the camera lens is visibly cracked or tightening the screws that hold the camera in place doesn’t fix the issue you may need to replace the camera. A basic camera replacement guide is linked here.

Battery Not Charging / Decreased Battery Life

The drone does not charge when plugged in or rapidly loses its battery.

Charger Not Plugged into Battery Properly

The charging indicator should light up while the drone is charging. If the indicator does not light up then the drone is not charging. In order to fix this problem, check that the connections between the battery charging cord and the drone are fully connected. If the cord is fully connected and it still isn’t charging try using a different outlet. If that doesn’t work, the charging cord may need to be replaced.

Battery Not Secured

It may seem like the battery is not charging if it isn’t correctly placed back into the slot after charging. If the battery is correctly inserted then you will hear an audible clicking sound.

Battery Needs Replaced

If the battery is correctly inserted into the drone and the battery still doesn’t work or loses its charge rapidly, you may need to replace the battery. Follow the replacement guide linked here to replace the battery.

Drone Not Flying Straight

The drone is constantly moving in a direction not intended.

Trim is Incorrectly Set.

If the drone is not flying straight try using the trim buttons to correct the drift. For example, if the drone is drifting right, tap the left trim button to correct the drift. Forward and reverse, left, and right trim buttons are located near the right control stick. The controller will beep when you press the button. If no beep is heard then the drone cannot be “trimmed” in that specific direction anymore. If the drone reaches the max trim setting in one direction, and the drone is still drifting see our other potential solutions below.

Motors are Not Spinning at the Same Speed

If no amount of trim fixes the problem then it is likely a motor issue. Start the drone but do not begin to fly it. Then look down at the rotors. If one is obviously spinning slower than the rest then the motor needs to be replaced. The guide linked here has general directions on how to replace a motor.

Controller Not Connecting to the Drone

The drone is not responding to any inputs from the controller.

Incorrect Start-up Procedure

The drone should be on a flat surface and should be turned on before the controller. When paired, the drone will make a beep sound. If you attempt to turn the controller on before the drone, the drone will not start.

Dead Batteries in the Controller/ Drone

If the controller does not have battery power, the controller will not be able to connect to the drone. Two AAA batteries are required for the controller. If the controller isn’t powering on then try replacing the controller’s batteries and make sure that the drone is fully charged.

Propellers Not Rotating at the Same Speed, Keeping the Drone from Taking Off

The drone will start but is unable to successfully take off.

Damaged Motor

If the motor is damaged, the propeller will not be able to rotate or will not rotate smoothly. In this situation, it is likely that the motor will have to be replaced. A general drone motor replacement guide is linked here.

Broken Propeller

Turn off the drone and disconnect the battery. Once the drone is off and the power is disconnected, then pick up the drone and inspect the propeller blades closely for damage or defects. Most likely damage would be a bent or chipped blade. Any damage to the propellers should be easily spotted. If there is damage to the propeller, the propeller will need to be replaced. Follow the replacement guide linked here to replace the propellers.
