Audiovox CDM 8910 Troubleshooting
Phone will not hold a charge
No matter how long you have the phone plugged into a charger, once it is taken off the charger, the battery icon falls to one bar.
Damaged charging mechanism
If the phone is unable to hold a charge, then the problem might be that the plastic charge port at the bottom of the phone is broken. The charger will not be able to connect to the charge port. In that case, the charge port will need to be replaced.
Dead Battery
If you are able to use the phone while it is connected to the charger, but it turns off immediately after it is unplugged from the charger, then that is a sign that the phone has a dead battery. To see this repair guide go to Installing Audiovox CDM-8910 Battery
Faulty Motherboard
If you are certain that the phone's battery and charger are working properly, then the problem might be with the motherboard. The bad motherboard will then have to be replaced. See Installing Audiovox CDM-8910 Motherboard
Screen is always black
The keyboard still functions, and the cell phone can still make and receive calls. However, the screen is completely black.
Broken Screen
The screen may always be black because the main LCD screen has been damaged. Check the LCD screen of the phone to see if it has cracked. If the LCD screen is broken then it will need to be replaced. For instructions on how to replace the LCD screen go to Audiovox CDM-8910 LCD Screen
Motherboard not working
If the main LCD screen appears to be in good condition, but the screen is black, then the motherboard may be the actual problem. To replace the motherboard, see the following guide. Installing Audiovox CDM-8910 Motherboard
Malfunctioning Keyboard
The phone does not respond when the buttons on the keyboard are pressed, or the buttons on the keyboard are sticking.
